After the House passed its devastating reconciliation bill last week, the Senate is now drafting its version of a reconciliation bill. We must ensure that our Senators do not cut clean energy investments and protect climate progress for the health and well-being of all Ohioans. Investments from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) have created thousands of jobs, lowered energy costs, and reduced pollution in Ohio.
Since the passage of the IRA, Ohio has received over $17.1 billion in funding from the clean energy plan. This money goes directly to our state to create 14,000+ new jobs, build communities, and reduce pollution. If passed, the reconciliation bill would revoke all of the progress we have made while putting Ohioans out of work, stalling innovation, and allowing harmful emissions to rise unchecked.
The House version of the reconciliation bill would destroy the greatest climate investment in U.S. history, the Inflation Reduction Act, and it is the most extreme anti-environment bill in U. S. history. We must ensure our Senators protect this important climate progress and urge them to keep IRA cuts off the table.
Please join us in urging our Senators to protect clean energy investments and oppose any cuts to the Inflation Reduction Act before it’s too late.
