OEC Action Fund Hosts Inaugural Legislative Reception, Awards Bipartisan Legislative Champions
Columbus, OH — The OEC Action Fund held its inaugural Legislative Reception last night, celebrating a bipartisan group of Ohio lawmakers and community leaders who have demonstrated strong commitment to protecting the state’s air, water, lands, and public health. The event brought together legislators, partners, and advocates to recognize outstanding leadership on issues that impact communities across Ohio.
“Last night’s event underscores the shared values that unite Ohioans,” said Pete Bucher, Executive Director of the OEC Action Fund. “We are proud to honor leaders who are taking meaningful steps to protect our environment and strengthen the health and well-being of communities across the state.”
During the reception, the OEC Action Fund presented six awards to individuals whose work reflects meaningful progress toward a healthier, more resilient Ohio:
Ohio Energy Champion Awards
Rep. Adam Holmes
Rep. Chris Glassburn
These honorees were recognized for their commitment to advancing practical, forward‑thinking approaches to Ohio’s energy future through the passage of Ohio House Bill 15 in 2025.
Clean Water Champion Awards
Rep. Dontavius Jarrells
Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel
Both lawmakers were honored for their leadership in strengthening protections for Ohio’s waterways and promoting safe, reliable drinking water for all communities. The legislators are Sponsors of House Bill 307, the Lead Service Line Replacement Act, which is currently being considered by the Ohio House Development Committee.
Conservation Champion Awards

Rep. Christine Cockley
These awards celebrate efforts to preserve Ohio’s natural resources, expand access to outdoor spaces, and promote responsible stewardship of the state’s environmental assets. Representatives Rader and Cockley introduced Ohio House Bill 399 to ban fracking in state parks and under Lake Erie.
An Evening of Unity and Shared Purpose
The reception highlighted the importance of collaboration across political lines and showcased the growing recognition that environmental protection benefits all Ohioans—regardless of region or background.
