Columbus Issue 1
PASSED! > The OEC Action Fund proudly endorsed Columbus Community Choice Aggregation (Issue 1).
Issue 1 passed by an overwhelming margin. By passing the ballot initiative, Columbus voters resoundingly chose to transition away from dirty, harmful energy sources and move toward a future powered by 100% clean, renewable energy that provides cleaner air and water for generations to come. This victory for Issue 1 makes the City of Columbus a climate action leader and puts it on the map as the Midwest’s largest community choice aggregator.
Park Levies Across the State
The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund proudly endorsed five park levies ahead of the 2020 General Election:
PASSED! > Ashland County Park District
PASSED! > Darke County Parks
PASSED! > Metroparks Toledo
Thanks to the voters in Ashland, Darke, and Lucas counties, the respective local park districts will be able to expand and improve their parks for the benefit of their visitors, improving local quality of life and economies. We applaud these communities for investing in their most valuable natural areas. As the pandemic has shown, our parks and public lands are more important than ever so that people can recreate safely while social distancing.
