COLUMBUS — Today, the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund announced its endorsement of 22 candidates running for state offices in the March Primary Election. The OEC Action Fund looks forward to working alongside these climate champions to continue ushering in critical investments that protect the health of Ohio’s communities and environment.

Alongside these candidates, the OEC Action Fund endorsed the Mansfield Water Main Initiative, a citizen-led ballot initiative that seeks to replace unsafe water line pipes so that Mansfield residents can access safe drinking water. Passing this ballot also ensures that the local fire department can access a clean, working fire hydrant any and every time firefighters must respond to an emergency.

The following quote can be attributed, in whole or in part, to Spencer Dirrig, Director of the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund:

“Ohioans need strong leaders at the Statehouse who will fight for climate action — from clean air, energy and water to healthy public lands and a fair democracy. All 22 of these local leaders are committed to advancing the bold climate action needed to safeguard Ohio’s environment for future generations while promoting environmental justice in their communities across the state.”

“The OEC Action Fund is proud to endorse the citizen-led Mansfield Water Main Initiative. Every Mansfield resident deserves clean drinking water carried through safe, secure pipes. By passing this ballot initiative, Mansfield voters will also ensure firefighters and emergency personnel have direct access to safe, working fire hydrants needed to protect residents in an emergency.”
