OEC Action Fund Endorses Six Climate Leaders and Three Ballot Initiatives Ahead of November General Election

COLUMBUS — Today, the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund announced its endorsement of six candidates running for judicial and legislative offices, as well as three ballot initiatives.

The OEC Action Fund looks forward to working alongside these climate champions and advancing a fair, healthy democracy for all of Ohio’s communities and environment. View all of our 2024 endorsements on our website.

The following quote can be attributed, in whole or in part, to Carol Kauffman,  President of the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund:

“In Ohio and across the nation, the judicial branch is critical to our ability to take action on climate change and ensure the health of our democracy. The future of our environment depends on a strong judiciary and we are proud to support this exceptional slate of judicial candidates.”

“Ohioans deserve leaders at the Statehouse who are committed to taking decisive climate action, safeguarding clean air and water, preserving public lands, and upholding a fair democracy. We're thrilled to introduce two more endorsed candidates who will advance legislation that protects our environment and addresses the climate crisis.

“And we’re proud to endorse three critical ballot initiatives designed to protect the health and environment of Ohio communities. Specifically, the OEC Action Fund is also proud to endorse Issue 1, the Citizens Not Politicians Amendment. This effort will end gerrymandering in Ohio by returning power to citizens, not politicians in Ohio’s redistricting process. Without a healthy democracy, we can’t achieve a healthy environment, which is why we’re encouraging all Ohioans to vote yes on Issue 1.”
