Columbus, OH – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund endorsed Senator Sherrod Brown and Representatives Emilia Sykes and Greg Landsman for reelection in 2024. The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund is thrilled to support LCV’s early endorsement of these three Ohio climate champions.
Senator Brown has been a steadfast champion for the environment and clean energy throughout his tenure in office, earning a lifetime score of 94% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard. Sen. Brown has focused on the opportunity that clean energy development creates good-paying union jobs across Ohio. He also worked to pass the Inflation Reduction Act — the largest investment in climate action in American history.
Representative Sykes has been a dedicated champion for the environment in her first term in Congress and understands that access to a clean and safe environment is a basic right. The OEC Action Fund looks forward to Rep. Sykes’ continued advocacy in Congress for policies that promote a sustainable environment that also support Ohio’s economy through good-paying jobs.
Representative Landsman knows that our future depends on protecting access to clean air, water, and public lands — especially considering his record on environmental sustainability while on Cincinnati City Council. In D.C., Rep. Landsman has worked across the aisle to build consensus for smart environmental policies and will continue to champion environmental issues in Washington to ensure Ohio passes down a clean, sustainable environment to future generations.
The following quote can be attributed, in whole or in part, to Spencer Dirrig, Director of the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund:
“Senator Brown, Rep. Sykes and Rep. Landsman have worked tirelessly to ensure our Great Lakes and waterways are protected, our public lands are preserved, and our air is clean and healthy. Ohioans need these elected officials in office to keep fighting for and protecting our environment for current and future generations.”
“The OEC Action Fund will continue to work with these Ohio climate champions to ensure that every Ohioan has clean air, public lands, clean water, and a robust democracy. We look forward to supporting their re-election campaigns in 2024 as we pave the way to environmental justice and a healthier Ohio.”
