We call on Ohio lawmakers to stop taking any and all donations from Ohio utilities, and instead focus on creating the best energy policy for Ohioans and our environment. We also call for a full investigation of each and every one of former PUCO Chair Randazzo’s rulings at the PUCO and Ohio Power Siting Board. Each case he presided over is possibly tainted by corrupt ties to FirstEnergy. We need to repeal every last bit of HB 6 and hold every connected government official accountable to move Ohio forward.

Ohioans deserve better. Our lawmakers should be working to create a sustainable future for all Ohioans. Ohio’s future is bright if we embrace clean energy and center equitable policies that ensure the benefits support those historically and disproportionately harmed by Ohio’s regressive energy policies. We call on Ohio lawmakers to fully repeal HB 6 and support legislation that creates a more equitable clean energy future for all Ohioans.

The proposed budget refused to accept the Governor’s increased funding for water quality improvements through the H2Ohio program and continues to promote oil and gas development in Ohio’s state parks and public lands.

Ohioans overwhelmingly support the transition to a clean, renewable energy future. But today, Ohio lawmakers voted to stifle renewable energy development in the Buckeye State once again by passing SB 52.

While we applaud today’s vote to expel Rep. Householder, we call on Ohio lawmakers to immediately repeal HB 6 in full. Ohio has the opportunity to be a leader in the clean energy economy, and repealing the entirety of HB 6 is where it must start.

Designating Doris Duke Woods as Ohio’s newest state nature preserve will not only protect sensitive ecosystems and important habitat, but it will also provide expanded recreational opportunities for Ohioans.

We urge all members of the Senate to stand against this amendment and the power grab it represents. Gov. DeWine, Attorney General Yost and House Speaker Cupp should call out the Senate’s amendment and uphold Ohio voters’ decisive mandate to end partisan gerrymandering.

Despite calls to restore proposed funding to protect Ohioans’ drinking water and protect Ohio’s state parks and public lands from an aggressive oil and gas leasing provision, the Ohio Senate Finance Committee adopted Sub. HB 110 today without addressing these critical issues.

Passing SB 117 is critical to putting Ohio back on track toward a clean energy future by repealing and blocking subsidies for polluting coal plants that hurt Ohioans’ pocketbooks and our health.

The House budget bill, Sub. House Bill 110, eliminates key provisions to protect Ohioans’ drinking water and drags Ohio backward by aggressively promoting oil and gas leasing in state parks and state public lands.

The people of Lima deserve a Mayor who will fight for their families by ensuring they have good-paying jobs, clean air to breathe, safe water to drink, and nearby vibrant greenspace to explore. Sharetta Smith is the perfect person for the job.

We urge all Fairfield County Residents to vote in favor of the park levy to provide access to Ohio’s vibrant natural landscapes and essential programming for the community.

The Ohio House of Representatives unveiled their initial changes to House Bill 110 (HB 110), the state of Ohio’s operating budget, on Tuesday. The proposed budget reduces funding for water quality improvements, but includes some additional funding that will increase Ohioans’ access to public lands.

The OEC Action Fund will continue to push for a full repeal of HB 6 that includes repeal of the subsidies for the coal plants and reinstating Ohio's renewable energy and energy efficiency standards to protect Ohioans’ health, wallets, and our environment.

While this legislation is a positive step in the right direction for Ohio energy consumers, HB 128 does nothing to improve Ohio’s air quality and does not address carbon emissions. Ohioans still deserve a full repeal of HB 6, the worst energy legislation of the 21st century.

The OEC Action Fund created the scorecard to hold Ohio lawmakers accountable for votes that damage our environment, as well as to celebrate those lawmakers who have championed pro-environmental legislation. The scorecard includes both narratives and scores that reflect state lawmakers’ and the DeWine Administration’s actions on key environmental legislation and decisions during the 133rd GA.

The 2020 LCV Scorecard measures votes cast during the second session of the 116th Congress. In Ohio, four House members and Senator Brown earned a score of 90 percent or greater, while four House members earned an abysmal score of 10 percent or less. The average House score for Ohio was just 38 percent and the average Senate score was 54 percent.

We call on those who were a part of the corrupt dealings to resign now or be expelled by the legislature. The 133rd General Assembly adjourned last night without taking any action to repeal House Bill 6, despite ongoing revelations of the largest bribery scandal in Ohio history. Simply put, they failed Ohioans.
