The Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund (OEC Action Fund), announced today its endorsement of Representative Steven Arndt (R-Port Clinton) for the Ohio House of Representatives. Arndt is a pragmatic and principled leader who is passionate about addressing Lake Erie’s toxic algae blooms, solving climate change, and advancing a sound and balanced energy policy for Ohio.
“Representative Arndt has spent his entire life along Lake Erie and he understands the importance of protecting it,” said OEC Action Fund President Heather Taylor-Miesle. “His passion, experience, and perspective will make him an important voice for our environment in the Statehouse.”
The endorsement marks the OEC Action Fund’s sixth endorsement of the cycle and its second Republican endorsement. The OEC Action fund also has endorsed Randy Gardner (R-Bowling Green) for the Ohio Senate, Pete Gerken (D-Toledo) for Lucas County Commissioner, Denise Driehaus (D-Cincinnati) for Hamilton County Commissioner, and Dan Ramos (D-Lorain) and Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) for the Ohio House. These endorsements mark the arrival of the OEC Action Fund in the electoral process and confirm that the organization will be working across the state to elect environmental champions, regardless of party affiliation.
“I'm honored and appreciate the endorsement from the OEC Action Fund,” said Arndt. “It recognizes my previous and future commitments to a balanced but responsive approach that preserves and protects our environment, and includes both the lake and energy policies that are so important in driving our economy.”
