The Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund (OEC Action Fund), announced today their endorsement of Rep. Dan Ramos for the State Legislature. Ramos is longtime proponent of growing Ohio’s clean energy economy and has worked hard to address the causes of the toxic algal blooms that plague Ohio’s lakes and threaten our drinking water.
“Representative Ramos has been a real leader in the Ohio Legislature and his work to reduce emissions, build a clean energy economy, and protect Lake Erie is precisely the kind of champion we need in the Statehouse,” said OEC Action Fund President Heather Taylor-Miesle. “This November, voters have a clear choice and a solid environmental supporter in Representative Dan Ramos. He has a solid record of environmental leadership and he’s an outspoken advocate for the people of the 56th House District.”
The endorsement marks the first time the OEC Action Fund has endorsed in a State House race. In addition to this endorsement, the OEC Action fund has endorsed Denise Driehaus for Hamilton County Commissioner and plans to issue an endorsement in a State Senate race. These endorsements represent a significant foray into electoral politics for Ohio’s environmental community aimed at building the political power of the environmental movement through strategic issue and electoral campaigns.
"Throughout my time in office, I have sought to make the protection of our environment a priority, not only because it is vital to our future but also for the jobs that a clean energy economy can create,” said Ramos. “Growing up on Lake Erie, I know what tremendous natural resources we have in this state, and it is an honor to work alongside the OECAF on efforts to protect them"
