OEC Action Fund to Focus GOTV Efforts on Key State Legislative Districts
COLUMBUS, OH — The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund today announced 12 Climate Targets for 2022, a slate of candidates running for the Ohio House and Senate who will shape the environmental future of Ohio if elected. These candidates are in highly competitive seats with major implications for Ohio’s land, water, energy, and democracy. The OEC Action Fund will focus the full force of its statewide efforts to support climate champions in these highly contested state legislative districts.
“Ohio has the opportunity to lead the nation in a clean energy transition, and these 12 candidates know that Ohio's climate investments will create good-paying jobs and protect the health of their communities while combating the climate crisis,” said Spencer Dirrig, Director of the OEC Action Fund. “With Ohio’s environmental future on the ballot, this is no time for complacency or passive support. The OEC Action Fund looks forward to engaging voters across Ohio in support of our 12 climate targets in exceptionally competitive races and will focus the full weight of our efforts over the next few weeks to ensure these candidates are elected to the Ohio House and Senate.”

Leading up to Election Day, the OEC Action Fund will employ multiple methods of support for these candidates over the final weeks of the election, including—but not limited to—direct mail, digital ads, and direct voter contact.
