Columbus, OH — The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund celebrates the passage of our endorsed park levies:
Ashland County Park District
Darke County Parks
Metroparks Toledo
The OEC Action Fund eagerly awaits the final results for the Trumbull County park levy which is too close to call and may go through an automatic recount.
The following statement can be attributed in full, or in part, to Heather Taylor-Miesle President of the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund:
“We applaud these communities for investing in their most valuable natural areas. As the pandemic has shown, our parks and public lands are more important than ever so that people can recreate safely while social distancing. Thanks to the voters in Ashland, Darke, and Lucas counties, the respective local park districts will be able to expand and improve their parks for the benefit of their visitors, improving local quality of life and economies.”

The OEC Action Fund seeks to protect and enhance the environment, health and economic viability, and democracy of all Ohio communities by expanding access to public lands, advancing critical priorities, holding policy makers accountable, and electing environmental champions. We are the statewide political voice for Ohio’s environment. We work to elect environmentally responsible candidates in Ohio and to pass park levies that expand access to public land.
