The Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund (OEC Action Fund), announced today their endorsement of Casey Weinstein for the State Legislature. Weinstein is a clean energy champion and a United States Air Force Veteran who currently serves on the Hudson City Council.
“Casey Weinstein will be a breath of fresh air in Columbus,” said OEC Action Fund President Heather Taylor-Miesle. “As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Casey knows how important it is to address climate change, protect Lake Erie, and grow Ohio’s clean energy economy. Climate change is a threat multiplier that is already impacting folks here in Ohio and Casey’s experience is exactly what Ohio needs to tackle global warming.”
The endorsement is the fourth of this cycle for the OEC Action Fund. OECAF has also endorsed Denise Driehaus for Hamilton County Commissioner, Rep. Dan Ramos for the Ohio House, and Sen. Randy Gardner in the Senate. These endorsements represent a significant foray into electoral politics for Ohio’s environmental community aimed at building the political power of the environmental movement through strategic issue and electoral campaigns.
"I am honored to have the endorsement of the OECAF,” said Weinstein. “I want Ohio to be at the forefront of welcoming the rapidly growing renewable energy industries. These industries will bring billions of dollars of investment into our state, along with thousands of good paying jobs."
